BIOFLEX Laser Therapy
Advanced Light-Based Healing with Dr. Selam Deutschmann, DC
BIOFLEX Laser Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses red and infrared light to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. At our clinic, Dr. Selam Deutschmann uses the BIOFLEX MultiPort system to reduce pain, decrease inflammation, and support tissue repair—without drugs, injections, or surgery.
How BIOFLEX Works
BIOFLEX is a form of photobiomodulation (PBM), sometimes called “cold laser” or low-level light therapy.
During treatment:
- Special red (660 nm) and infrared (840 nm) light arrays are placed directly on the skin.
- Light energy is absorbed by cells, especially the mitochondria (the “powerhouses” of the cell).
- This can:
- Increase ATP (cellular energy) production
- Improve microcirculation and oxygen delivery
- Reduce inflammation and swelling
- Support collagen and tissue repair
You simply relax while the system does the work.
Conditions BIOFLEX May Help
BIOFLEX Laser Therapy is often used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for:
- Joint pain & arthritis (knees, hips, shoulders, hands)
- Neck and low back pain
- Tendinitis & tendinopathy (tennis elbow, Achilles issues, rotator cuff)
- Muscle strains and sprains
- Plantar fasciitis and foot pain
- Post-surgical or injury healing support
- Nerve-related pain and neuropathy (mild to moderate)
Dr. Deutschmann will evaluate whether BIOFLEX is appropriate for your specific condition and goals.
What to Expect During a Session
A typical BIOFLEX visit is:
- Comfortable – You’ll be seated or lying down in a relaxed position.
- Non-invasive – No needles, no heat damage, and no downtime.
- Quiet & Calm – Light arrays are placed over the target area for a set time while you relax.
- Timeframe – Sessions usually last 15–30 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
Most patients report the treatment feels warm, soothing, or neutral—with many noticing gradual improvements over a series of visits.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Because BIOFLEX works by supporting your body’s own healing processes, it is usually delivered as a series rather than a one-time treatment.
- Acute injuries: Often respond in 4–8 sessions
- Chronic conditions: May benefit from 8–12+ sessions, then occasional maintenance
Treatment frequency and duration will be based on:
- How long you’ve had the problem
- The severity of your symptoms
- Your overall health and activity level
- How you respond to the first few sessions
Is BIOFLEX Laser Therapy Safe?
BIOFLEX has been designed for clinical use and has an excellent safety profile when used properly.
- Non-invasive
- No known systemic side effects
- Safe when appropriate eye protection is used
- Can be combined with chiropractic care, SoftWave, rehab exercises, and other conservative therapies
Dr. Deutschmann will review your health history and discuss any precautions (for example: pregnancy, active cancer in the treatment area, or photosensitive conditions).
